MICHAEL C. MAHON is many things. A dad. A basketball and baseball coach. A husband. And yes, an actor. It’s the latter hat Mahon has proudly worn the longest, having worked consistently on TV, film and stage since graduating from Seton Hall University (BA, Communications) in 1981. Mahon launched his career in New York City, and after the requisite stints as a waiter, bartender and Christmas tree salesman, the New Jersey native steadily built his professional acting resume. He was fortunate to study with some of the greats in N.Y.C., including Stella Adler, Uta Hagan, Clifford David, Warren Robertson, Curt Dempster, Bobby Moresco and William Esper. Among the early film credits from his time in New York: “The Verdict”, “Wall Street”, “The Flamingo Kid”, “Quick Change”, “Sex Drugs & HIV”, “First Thing Monday” and the inexplicable cult classic, “Sleepaway Camp”. Mahon also enjoyed recurring roles on daytime TV’s “All My Children” and “Ryan’s Hope”, and guest starring roles on “Law & Order”.

By the early ‘90s, Mahon had made his way west, and hit the ground running in Los Angeles. While studying with Howard Fine and Brian Reise, he landed recurring TV roles, including arcs on "ER", as Chloe's recovering alcoholic fiancé, Joe, and “NYPD Blue”, playing Andy Sipowitz’s urologist, Dr. Garrick. A memorable turn was in “Married With Children” where Mahon played a cross-dressing sportswear salesman with great gusto. Among his other TV guest star and co-star credits during the ensuing years: “The King of Queens” (2 episodes), “Picket Fences”, “Profiler”, “Leverage”, “Private Practice”, “Boston Legal”, “Las Vegas” (2 episodes), “Ed”, “Brimstone”, “Vengeance Unlimited”, “Diagnosis Murder”, "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”, “Under Suspicion”, and yes, “Baywatch Nights”.
More recently, Mahon has appeared in an array of TV shows, including “Ratched”, “The Orville”, “Scandal”, “Survivor’s Remorse”, “Parenthood” and “How I Met Your Mother”. Rounding out his TV resume are films for Hallmark, Starz, Syfy, Lifetime, ION and PBS, including Dear Secret Santa, The Flight Before Christmas; Christmas Twister; Mangas: A Foto-Novella; Race Against Time: The Search for Sarah.

Over the years, Mahon has added more film credits to his resume – from “Get a Job” to “The Gangster Squad” to “Gridiron Gang”, as well as overseas film work on “Dark Angel: The Ascent”, “Oblivion II: Backlash” and the “Josh Kirby...Time Warrior” series, which shot in Romania. Among his more memorable shoots was Anne DeSalvo's directorial debut, “Women Without Implants”.
Mahon had the pleasure of doing 8 episodes of “Squeegees”, Disney’s Stage 9 Web Series debut. Other Web series work includes “Roommates” and “Slaphouse”. Mahon has also shot an array of short films he’s very proud of: “Chunky Tuna”, “Lights”, “The Suit” and “Rest Stop”. Last, but by no means least, are Mahon’s extensive theater credits. With an on-stage career that spans decades, Mahon’s most treasured experiences in theater are playing Biff in “Death of a Salesman”, opposite the late Eddie Jones, and enjoying the privilege of being mentored and directed by José Quintero in “Ile”, “The Long Voyage Home”, and “The Children’s Hou”r. Some additional stage favorites: Ken Levine’s “Signing Off”, “Serious Games”, “Bleacher Bums”, “Loving Dutch”, “Fast Girls” and “Half-Deserted Streets”.
Mahon was artistic director of the acclaimed Ensemble Studio Theatre - LA for 6 years and produced, directed and co-starred in regular, well-reviewed staged readings and plays throughout Los Angeles. Mahon directed Half-Life, Waiting For Lefty and Boy’s Life, to name a few.

Behind the camera, Mahon has written, directed and produced films, including “Breakfast with Gimpy and Slip”, “The Suitcase” and “MOMMY”, a short featured in the Palm Beach Film Festival.
Mahon was a three-sport varsity athlete (football, basketball and baseball) back in high school, a State Champ quarterback and an RBC Hall of Fame inductee for football and basketball. Recently, Mahon has coached football, basketball and baseball and helped bring CIF State Championships to two elite high school football and basketball programs.

Always evolving and looking to hone the creative craft he so loves, Mahon studied Improv and Musical Improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade.
