Alex Grubbs is an actor currently based in Texas. New York Theatre credits include Spill (EST) Kentucky (EST/P73) Utility (TheAmoralists/Rattlestick) Seawife (Naked Angels) The In-Between (Noor Theatre) Mary Kate Olsen is in Love, a cautionary tale, These Seven Sicknesses (The Flea Theater). Alex can be seen in the award-winning horror short “The Bottom” —now available on Film Shortage. Alex is a founding member of the NYC folk band theatre collective, "The Lobbyists" who were nominated for a 2016 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music as well as recipients of a 2019 SLOAN grant with EST, 2019 NAMT finalists as well as finalists for the 2021 Jonathan Larson Award. The Lobbyists have had work developed with New York Stage and Film, Cape Cod Theater Project , Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, Ensemble Studio Theatre, BRIC lab and Two River theatre . Alex has participated in workshops and readings at LCT3, Rattlestick, New York Theatre Workshop, Ma-Yi, Women's Project, Playwrights Horizons, Cherry Lane, Exit Pursued by a Bear, The Lark, and The Ensemble Studio Theatre, where he is a lifetime member. He received an M.F.A in Acting from the University of Virginia. He lives in San Antonio, TX with his wife Bonnie, and three inspiring children.
