Loren Brown has worked as an actor in over eighty productions in New York. She appeared on Broadway in The Survivor. Off Broadway venues include Playwrights Horizons, the American Place Theatre, St. Clement’s Theatre, and The New Dramatists. A major off-Broadway role was Joanna in the Jules Feiffer sanctioned revival of his play Elliot Loves at the 42nd St. Workshop. She also appeared in numerous roles in regional theater, soap operas, including Pauline on “All My Children,” and independent film.
Loren has been a successful voice-over artist, recording thousands of voice-overs for TV, film, radio, and cartoons. In 1982 she established LBB Productions Inc., giving her invaluable business skills and management experience as a working artist. Her training, expertise, and certifications in various voice, breath, and body-mind integration systems led her to create a second business ten years ago. Loren Brown Wellness Design clientele includes individuals, couples, small groups and corporate seminars. She does artistic mentoring, and coaching of all ages for speech presentations. She teaches meditation, mindfulness training, self-healing systems, and stress reduction techniques in her private consulting and counseling practice.
Loren holds Degrees from Stanford University in Clinical Psychology and English Literature. She was a member of Healing Works, a not for profit volunteer community outreach organization that provided therapy for those who could not pay. She trained for two years at Helix Institute, specializing in the blending of Western and Eastern modalities for healing and therapy. She studied Depth Psychology and Creative Writing at the Jungian Institute. She is a long-standing member in the New York Chapter of NCGR, the National Council of Geocosmic Research.
Loren became a member of EST after enjoying one of her all-time favorite theatre experiences and roles as Beverly Sue in Shirley Lauro’s The Contest in 1976, directed by Paul Austin. She has been an active EST member as an actor, director, and producer in the Marathon, and many Octoberfests and Member Projects. She currently is serving her second year on EST Members Council, and served on the new EST Website committee. She served on this year’s New Members’ Committee, participating in vetting of both actor and director candidates. She currently is on the new Members’ Year Project committee.
