Carolyn Mignini has been a member of Ensemble Studio Theater since the beginning of her acting career. A career which includes everything from the final three years of CBS’ CAPTAIN KANGAROO to a Drama Desk Nomination for her portrayal of Anna Held in Broadway’s TINTYPES.
This past season, she played Linda Loman in DEATH OF A SALESMAN at Arkansas Rep and the legendary Maria Callas in The Gallery Players production of MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally. Prior to that, she premiered Bryony Lavery’s DIRT at D.C.’s Studio Theater and two musicals Off-Broadway: HEREAFTER and I MARRIED WYATT EARP. She also starred a new film, KINDLING, which she co-produced. She is set to direct a production of THE FANTASTICKS for the William Inge Center in Kansas this summer.
Other Broadway highlights include FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, a Bruce Jay Friedman comedy ONE NIGHT STAND and A HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN FILM. While living on the West coast, Carolyn continued her association with EST LA, Pacific Resident Theatre and LA Theater Company, with whom she did the Los Angeles premier of Sondheim’s ASSASINS. She has been the voice and face of hundreds of commercials. Add dozens of TV appearances; THE GOOD WIFE, FX’S LIGHTS OUT, THE PRACTICE, CHICAGO HOPE, MURPHY BROWN, WONDER YEARS, DAYS OF OUR LIVES and TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL to name a few. A well-known teacher and coach, she works with students on both coasts. Having relocated back to NY, she is very happy to be at EST again, serving on the Members Council and just showing up at 52nd Street!
