Susan J. Vitucci is a playwright, lyricist, performer and director, who is best known as co-creator of LOVE’S FOWL (NY Theatre Workshop), the acclaimed puppet operetta in Italian with music by Henry Krieger that toured the U.S. (Cast album: Original Cast Records; Hewes Design Award nomination for puppets). Currently in development are THE OTHER MILLAY, a full-length play with songs, music by Henry Krieger (O’Neill Playwrights Conference semi-finalist); SMALL FISH, a new puppet operetta with music by Henry Krieger, and HIGH AND DRY. Susan has worked as director and dramaturge with the 52nd Street Project, and she edited 52 Pick-up: A Guide to Making Theater with Children by Willie Reale. She has received fellowships from MacDowell Colony, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, VCCA-France, and Ucross Foundation. Susan is a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, a New York Theatre Workshop Usual Suspect, of Honor Roll, and a member of the Dramatists Guild. She holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
