Johnny Giacalone is a professional actor who has worked in the entertainment industry in both New York and Los Angeles for over eight years. He has developed and nurtured his career on both coasts. Johnny’s extensive stage resume includes the world premiere of Erik Patterson’s SICK at Los Angeles Theater Center, The School of Night at Mark Taper Forum, As You Like It at Joe Papp’s Public Theatre, Dan Fogler’s Elephant in the Room at the NY International Fringe Festival, in addition to work at theaters including; Manhattan Theatre Club, The McCarter Theatre, Hartford Stage, City Theatre of Pittsburgh, Portland Stage, The Fountain, Jane Street, Princeton Repertory, Lincoln Center Institute, Soho Rep, and The Director’s Company. Recently Johnny helped to create and develop The Gazillionaire Show, a clown show at the M Bar cabaret in Hollywood and in the Spiegelworld tent at the South Street Seaport. A regular in the Los Angeles improv world, Johnny performs with two long form troupes Good Knievel and Parent Teacher Conference. As improviser Johnny has performed at IO West, UCB, West Side Improv and Second City. Johnny starred in the film “little kings” the winner of Best Narrative Feature at the Palm Springs and Methodfest film festivals, as well as winner of Best Ensemble at the MassBay film festival. Other film credits include “Looking for An Echo” with Armand Assante, “Rubout” and “Darkhouse”. Johnny has guest starred on “Law & Order”, Nickelodeon’s “iCarly”, appeared in the Showtime original pilot “HATE” and currently can be seen as series regular in two webisode series, “The Premarital Six” and “Life on the ENG”. Johnny is the author or 3 screenplays including “Our Boy Saly” and “The Saturday Night Club”. He attended Vassar College and the National Theatre Institute in Stratford Upon Avon and at the Eugene O’Neill Center in New London Connecticut.

Johnny is also a proud of the Ensemble Studio Theatre Johnny first appeared in What I Meant Was by Craig Lucas in Marathon ’97. Since then he performed at EST in Summer Cyclone, Welcome Home Buddy Combs, Fzzn Grrl, three rounds of Asking for Trouble, as well as countless readings and workshops. EST is also where Johnny met his wife, Nicol Zanzarella.
