In the wake of the unexpected suicide of their son, Cole, a family tries to piece their life together. “Cole” is a study of how grief builds and self-perpetuates, examining how loss changes us and how we move forward when our world is shattered.

Andrew Massey is a playwright based in Brooklyn, NY. He is a member of Youngblood, Ensemble Studio Theatre’s OBIE award-winning playwright collective, and a frequent collaborator with Current Harbor, a Brooklyn dance and theater company. His work has most recently been developed and produced at Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Flea, Dixon Place, The Tank, The Stonington Opera House, and with Rhapsody Collective. He is a graduate of Vassar College and The National Theater Institute. While at Vassar, his work was developed and produced through the Experimental Theater and the Philaletheis Society and received the Molly Thacher Kazan Award. His plays include Carthage (NPC Finalist 2019), Little Hundreds, The Fall of Rome, Grown, and The Winter Palace.
