EST has operated a Summer Conference since the earliest period of the company’s existence.  The purpose of the Summer Conference is to provide a relaxed venue for the development of new works by EST member and affiliated artists far from the pressures of New York City’s public theater environment and critics, including the development of new theater and dance projects.  The Summer Conference also offers opportunities for non-members to pay for weeklong training residencies and master classes taught by EST artists.  Over the years EST has operated the Conference at rented or EST-owned facilities in Vermont and throughout the Catskill Mountains of New York, including at retreat facilities in the rural areas of Amenia, Tannersville and, most recently, Lexington, NY.  When Summer Conference courses are offered to non-member artists, enrollment information and application forms can be found on EST’s website.  Please check during the spring season for more information about upcoming classes.
