Credit

The SCP carries 6 credits conferred through Ohio Wesleyan University, NYAP’s managing college. Grades for the New York Arts Program semester are on a pass/fail system unless the home campus specifically requests letter grades. At the end of the semester, the New York Arts Program forwards the evaluation and transcript to Ohio Wesleyan University, for transfer to the home college.

Credit Breakdown:  Conservatory:  30 hours per week = 4 semester hour credits; Audition Clinic Seminar and Journal = 1 credit each.

Application

Process: The program requires collaboration and openness, and is geared toward undergraduates in acting, directing and playwriting who have demonstrated a serious commitment. Students seeking credit must obtain permission from her/his Off-Campus study office and two letters of recommendation from faculty that comment on her/his ability and preparation for this kind of work and ability to function in a collaborative setting. The applicant is required to submit a resume and a brief essay about her/his interest in this program and may submit relevant supplementary material. Applicants who are contacted are encouraged to come to New York for a meeting with NYAP and EST faculty.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition            $3,000
Credit Fees      $3,000*
Housing           $1,500*

* Optional. Students not seeking credit should contact NYAP regarding fees.

Other expenses: Students are responsible for their meals and local transportation.  NYAP’s residence has fully equipped kitchens.

Billing Procedures: A $100 deposit for housing confirmation is paid directly to the New York Arts Residence with returned housing questionnaire. Ohio Wesleyan University bills home campuses prior to the semester or term; the home campus then bills the student or parent for tuition and housing. Bills are sent to students prior to the beginning of the program.
